- Face data: when you upload a selfie within our apps, we collect that image to provide AI-powered features such as makeup predictions. We do not collect biometric identifiers or perform facial recognition.

Face Data Policy
A17 Labs provides features that allow you to upload photos (such as selfies) for AI analysis. We are committed to protecting your privacy and strictly adhere to the following practices regarding face data:
- Collection and Use: We collect the images you upload strictly to provide the specific AI analysis or makeup prediction features you request.
- Our Storage and Retention: If you choose to save your results, we store your face data to provide a historical dashboard where you can track progress. This data is automatically purged upon account deletion or after 24 months of account inactivity.
- Third-Party Sharing (AI Providers): To perform the analysis, we securely transmit your face data to our third-party cloud AI providers, specifically OpenAI and Google (Gemini).
- Third-Party Storage and Practices:
- Do third parties store your face data? No. Our agreements with these providers mandate zero-retention policies for API data. They do not store face data on their servers and do not use it for model training.
- Retention Duration: Data sent to these providers is processed ephemerally. It is held in memory only for the duration of the analysis request (typically 2-5 seconds) and is immediately discarded thereafter.
- Why they process data: These third parties provide the computational power required for advanced visual analysis. Ephemeral storage is the minimum required to compute the results before the connection is closed.
- No Biometrics: We do not use face data to create biometric identifiers, nor do we use it for identification or authentication purposes.
Sharing
We may share information with vendors and service providers who help us operate the Services; when required by law or to protect rights and safety; or with your consent. We do not sell your personal information.
Data Retention
We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. As noted above, specific data types like face data are subject to automatic purging after 24 months of account inactivity or upon account deletion.
Your Choices
- Access, update, or delete certain account information.
- Control communications by adjusting your settings or opting out.
- Manage cookie and device permissions at the system level.
Children’s Privacy
Our Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
